My worst day in prison was Thanksgiving 🦃 2012 — when I found myself eating a serving of turkey wrapped in aluminum foil. Because Thanksgiving was the only holiday that I would serve two years in a row in prison, it's the one I will never forget.


As Max Bazerman and Ann Tenbrunsel share in their book, The Blind Spot, “When faced with a tempting but possibly unethical choice, ask yourself whether you would feel comfortable sharing that decision with your mom (or your dad or someone else you respect).”


They call it the "mom test". But I take it one step further — call home before compliance.
